Homemade veg momos recipe

Welcome to my yet another delicious blog. Today I am here to share my homemade recipe for veg momos. Momos are a type of steamed stuffed dumplings popular in the Himalayas, Nepal, and China. Momos are extremely yummy and healthy snacks that can be prepared easily at home. 

There are a variety of momos like veg momos, chicken momos, Nutri momos, mozzarella cheese momos, and many others depending upon your taste.

But today I am going to share the recipe of veg momos

Let’s quickly begin with the recipe.....

Preparation time: 40 mins

No. Of momos: 12 to 14

INGREDIENTS:

FOR DUMPLINGS:

1.     All-purpose flour (maida)- 1 cup

2.     Salt- 1/2 tsp

3.     Cooking oil- 1 tbsp

FOR STUFFING:

1.     Cabbage(grated)- 100gm

2.     Green chilies 

3.     Carrot(grated)- 1/2

4.     Chopped garlic- 4

5.     Chopped onion- 1/2

6.     Spring onion- 1/3 cup

7.     Salt to taste

8.     Black pepper- 1/3 tsp

9.     Soy sauce- 1 tsp

10. Cooking oil- 1 tsp

FOR MOMO SAUCE:

1.     Dried red chillies- 10 to 12

2.     Tomatoes- 1

3.     Green chillies- 2

4.     Chopped Garlic- 9 to 10

METHODS TO PREPARE:

FOR STUFFING:

·        Take all the above mentioned veggies and grate it 

·        Then add 1 tsp cooking oil in a frying pan and heat the oil.

·        When the oil is heated, put chopped garlic in the pan and fry it

·        Then fry the grated carrots and chillies in the pan

·        When the carrots are fried then add chopped onions, spring onions and cabbage in the pan

·        Then fry all the veggies in the pan

·        Then add 1 tsp soy sauce and salt to taste.

·        When the veggies are fried the turn the gas stove off

·        Now your momo stuffing is ready.

FOR DUMPLINGS:

·        Take 1 cup all purpose flour in a bowl and then add 1 tbsp oil in it 

·        Then add 1/2 tbsp of salt in it

·        Then mix flour and salt and add a little water in the flour

·        Then knead the flour mixture by adding little water

·        Knead the flour into a perfect dough.

·        Now roll out small round rotis and make momo dumplings.

·        Add the prepared stuffing in the dumplings and seal the dumplings

     

·        Now take a steamer and boil some water in it

·        Once the water starts boiling, put the dumplings in the steamer to cook.

·        Close the lid of the steamer and cook dumplings for 10 mins.

·        Now your momo dumplings are ready.

    

FOR MOMO SAUCE:

·        Boil 10-12 dried red chillies and 1 tomato for 5-6 mins

·        Then peel off the tomatoes and take the chillies out of hot water.

·        Now blend the boiled tomatoes and chillies into a thick paste

·        Take a frying pan and put 2 tbsp of oil in it and heat it

·        When the oil is heated then put 9-10 chopped garlic and fry it for 3-4 mins

·        Then put the paste in the pan and cook the paste at low flame for 10-12 mins

·        Now your momo sauce is ready to use.

   

FINAL TIP: Now take the dumplings out of the steamer and enjoy your momos with this awesome sauce.
