How to feel happy and energetic daily

Happiness and energy are interlinked to each other. Feeling energetic is the key to happiness while happiness gives you energy. Studies have shown that when you feel energetic, you feel much better about yourself. On the other hand, when you feel exhausted, then the tasks that used to make you happy would not make you feel overwhelmed and you will automatically feel dull. So it’s is very necessary to feel happy and energetic everyday.

Feeling happy and energetic daily is essential for your better physical, mental and emotional health. It not only enhances your creativity and thinking abilities but also betters your productivity. It helps better your personal as well as work life. It is not going to happen in one day or one month but it is a matter of making it a habit to feel happy and energetic everyday. For achieving this you need to get out of your comfort zone. As with a healthy life comes happiness and energy for which you need to eliminate bad habits and make changes in your unhealthy lifestyle.

So here are 15 tips to feel happy and energetic daily:

1. EXERCISE REGULARLY:

Regular exercising gives positive effects to every aspect of your life. It lifts up your mood, boosts your confidence, makes you feel more energetic, and is a natural stress buster which helps reduce daily work stress and depression. There is no better way to start your day rather than a light workout or some yoga or meditation which makes the rest of your day full of positivity and good vibes.

2. PRACTICE MINDFULNESS:

Say yes to some form of meditation in your life. It doesn’t always need to be a rough workout, sometimes a mild meditation can help you. You can focus on your breath for a few minutes everyday or any sensory experiments for that. Feel the water touching your skin while you take  shower or listen to the birds singing in the morning or simply gaze at the stars. Just observe things because it actually is that simple. If you want some real direction in your life perform such activities. It will help you practice mindfulness which will improve your observation and thinking skills.

3. PRACTICE TO SHOW GRATEFULNESS:

This is one of the most important thing to do in my life which most of us take for granted. You would never be angry, afraid, or jealous when you practice to show gratefulness towards others. Try to pick at least three things that makes you feel grateful towards them every morning. You can show gratefulness to everyone or everything which gives you happiness or sense or sense of contentment like a smile from a loved one or the breakfast you have planned, or the wind whistling in the air or the bird chirpings. Practising gratefulness will give you an inner happiness and will make you feel energetic.

4. ENVISION YOUR DREAMS:

What you cannot see, what you cannot feel, you can never achieve that. When you envision your dreams, you strive to make them happen in reality. If you want to increase the livelihood of achieving your goals then envision the future of your dreams because visualizing your goal achieving is where it all starts. It promotes positive thinking in you when you visualize your dreams. It also helps you to stay on your path determined to be successful in a long run. Gazing at the stars and introspection are some of the ways by which you can envision your dreams or goals.

5. START WITH A MORNING ROUTINE:

When you follow a strict morning routine, it helps to tune in to your day better allowing you to control your schedule rather than schedules controlling you. When you develop a morning routine, it helps you prioritize your time better which eventually improves your productivity. It also helps reduce stress and hence gives you more energy and happiness as it gives you the chance you line up your work in a sorted manner making you more clear and active for throughout your day.

6. ELIMINATE NEGATIVITY FROM YOUR LIFE: 

Avoid negativity from harming you at any costs. Ignore any kind of negativity whether it be any form of negative news or any social media. Stay at some distance from people who have a negative impact in your life either emotionally or mentally. As negativity restricts us from growing, so fight against any kind of negativity whether it be inside you or outside. Studies have also shown that people who avoid negativity have a longer run in life with happiness and energy that those who are struck in these negative thoughts.

7. CONNECT WITH PEOPLE:

Put your time and energy into the relationships which are meaningful to you or have a positive effect on you. We all must learn that most of the people we meet are temporary in life and we should not attach or have expectations to them. Connect to those whose are among some of the permanent members of your life. When you connect with people who are important to you then it impacts your emotional and mental balance in a positive manner and you feel happy and energetic by spending time with them. Unnecessary attachments can cause emotional damage. So stick to  people who play a permanent member of your life.

8. LIMIT CAFFEINE:

It’s true that coffee and all other caffeinated drinks give you a boost in your energy levels but it can also cause you to feel more tired when taken in overdose. Caffeine is a stimulant which does not have a long-lasting effect but can create a dependency state for your body. As when your body feels that the effect is lessen then it will make you crave for more caffeine. Also caffeine tends to increase stress levels, make you feel dizzy, cause headaches, contribute to high blood pressure levels and makes it more difficult to relax or fall asleep at nighttime when taken in overdose.

9. TAKE SHORT NAPS:

Some people find it relieving to take a short nap for 10 to 15 minute in the afternoon or anytime when you feel tired or stressed out. It can help you recharge yourself and makes you more alert and actually for the rest of the day. Everyone feels tempted to sleep for longer, but power-nap can help you avoid the opposite effect which is feeling more tired than before. Sometimes longer afternoon naps taken in break can impact your ability to fall asleep at the night time. So take limited but do take short naps to recharge yourself.

10. STOP SMOKING:

Smoking is not only a bad habit because it effects your health but it tends to make you feel more tired and exhausted during the day. Nicotine present in cigarettes is a stimulant which not only increases the heart rate and blood pressure but also contributes to the problems of getting insomnia. Like caffeine, nicotine can also cause your energy level to crash and makes you feel more exhausted and stressed. So avoid smoking to keep you mood and energy level uplifted everyday.

11. LIMIT ALCOHOL:

Drinking alcohol can make you feel dizzy, depressed and more sleepy. But you may not know that taking a drink in the afternoon has the worst effect on your energy and health. It’s best to say no to alcohol at lunch or in the afternoon in order to feel energetic and jolly in the evening after stressful whole day work.

12. GET ENOUGH REST:

It is impossible to feel energetic, happy and positive if you don’t get enough quality sleep at night. By getting advised 7 to 9 hours of good quality sleep each day can boost up your energy and make you happy all day long. For a good quality sleep you need:

  • Try to go early in bed and get up early at the same time every day.
  • Develop a night routine which will let you de-stress and relax naturally at the end of the day. Consider taking a warm bath, relaxing stretches, massaging, meditation or reading a book that gives you mental peace.
  • Avoid electronics like phones or laptops 30 to 40 minutes before sleeping to promote mental peace which will give you a good quality sound sleep.
  • Have a bedroom with sleep-oriented environment like it should be dark, silent, positive and cool.

13. TAKE MULTIVITAMINS:

Natural deficiencies can make you feel low or less energetic. People with general fatigue or iron deficiencies or any other anemic struggle can cause exhaustion and stress. Taking a routine food supplement or multivitamins can help fulfill the deficiencies and make you feel more positive, happier and energetic everyday.

14. KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED:

Stress and fatigue can also be caused due to dehydration. So, to feel more active and energetic everyday, ensure yourself to drink as much water. Doctors recommend to drink 8 to 10 glasses of water per day. So try to keep a large water bottle with you to take a reminder to stay hydrated and start everyday with a big glass of water empty stomach in the morning. This will give your body all what it needs to stay energized and happy all day long

  

15. INCREASE YOUR PROTEIN INTAKE:

Start your day with a breakfast loaded with proteins that will help keep your energy levels up for all day long. For your breakfast, select foods that are rich in proteins like eggs, yogurt and nuts. Protein and whole grains take longer to break down into energy for your body. This helps prevent an energy crash later in work day that are more likely to cause by a breakfast full of only simple carbohydrates and sugar. Also proteins triggers your ability to concentrate and be more productive. Eating foods packed with proteins for snacks also makes you feel full of energy and zeal everyday.
